Jimmy Buffett, the famous musician, loves the Caribbean lifestyle like no one else. He owns a home in St. Barts and frequently mentions the sunny oasis in his island escapism songs. One such songs was mythically inspired by an American food classic, the Cheeseburger.

According to Buffett’s Margaritaville web site, the myth of the “cheeseburger in paradise” was inspired by a boat journey Buffett once took in the Caribbean. Buffett states that while subsisting on canned food and peanut butter, he envisioned eating a “piping hot cheeseburger”. He reports that upon finally arriving in Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, he was surprised to find a restaurant serving American cheeseburgers:

…we gave particular instructions to the waiter on how we wanted them cooked and what we wanted on them — to which little attention was paid. It didn’t matter. The overdone burgers on the burned, toasted buns tasted like manna from heaven, for they were the realization of my fantasy burgers on the trip.

Luxury Living International Magazine set out to find song-worthy cheeseburgers in paradise and here’s what we found:

Rumfish – Belize

In the tiny fishing village of Placencia Belize (best mainland beaches too) is a great hangout with killer food and the burgers are awesome. This upstairs bar and grill has all kinds of great fresh food but the burgers are really good with just enough heat to make you drink your cold Beliken Beer a little faster.

Perched above the village and over looking the soccer field RumFish is a great hang out for cocktails, too. The Owners John and Pam, from Santa Barbara are usually hanging around manning the bar and swapping stories with customers- which is a great way to hang-out in paradise.

Cool Cat Cafe – Maui

First Cool cat start with 100% certified Angus Beef, always fresh never frozen. Next, they hand patty our 6.5oz. burgers everyday. Each Cool Cat burger is then topped with their own blend of spices and cooked to order.

Great buns are a must for a great burger and theirs are baked fresh daily from a local bakery and delivered every morning.

Together all these ingredients, along with the great atmosphere, is what makes a Cool Cat Burger so fantastic. And they’ve been voted best burger on Maui for 5 years in a row!

The Beach Bar – St Maarten

To many people across the world, Sunset Bar & Grill is known as The Beach Bar; a unique watering hole on the tropical paradise island of St. Maarten. Overlooking one of the Caribbean’s most fascinating beaches, right at the beginning of the runway of the famous PJIA airport, Sunset Bar & Grill epitomizes St. Maarten’s relaxed lifestyle. Soak up some sun and chow down on their popular Cheeseburger or go exotic and try the Swordfish burger!

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy top quality live music at the Sunset Bar & Grill. You’ll witness a formidable mix of characters from all walks of life sharing the same passion for great music, from Latin and soul to rock and reggae.

Johnny Rockets – Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island

In the famed Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, next to Nassau in the Bahamas, you’ll find a retro Americana dining experience at Johnny Rockets. Known for their ‘original hamburgers and hand-dipped shakes, Johnny Rockets offers the literal Cheeseburger in Paradise. Johnny Rockets employs a special Grillology technique to ensure each cheeseburger is juicy and grilled to perfection. The Rocket Single combines the delicious orginal favorites including cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, fresh tomato, white onion and Johnny Rockets’ special sauce.

The burger comes accompanied with fries, of course and to add to the nostalgic feel of the place, table-top jukebokes will serenade you while you chow down – and each song is just a nickel. When you’re satisfied with your meal, head just outside to the luxurious Atlantis Resort where you can swim with dolphins, hit the Ocean Club Golf Course or visit the Mandara Spa for a truly relaxing evening.

If a relaxing evening isn’t on the itinerary, you can take a peek around Atlantis for Justin Bieber, who’s been known to frequent the posh resort, even once with Kim Kardashian!

Pusser’s – Marina Cay, BVI’s

There are few places like Marina Cay. The flower covered, eight-acre island is ringed by a soft, white sand beach. The island is nestled in a sheltered, emerald green, lagoon whose shallow waters are always calm and lukewarm. The island is also home to award winning Pusser’s, the restaurant chain of the Original Navy Rum company, specializing in seafood and cuisine of the Caribbean. The Burger is called the All-American and it’s a half pounder char-grilled and topped with your choice of American, swiss, monterey jack, cheddar, pepper jack or bleu cheese.

With the island location of Pusser’s it is the ideal place for snorkelers to enjoy the colorful fish and sea life that inhabit the coral reef and the lagoon. The quiet lagoon and reef make Marina Cay the ideal place for vacationing families with small children who desire a natural, safe, watersports environment. Likewise it is a wonderful place for those wishing to learn to snorkel and scuba dive.

Le Select – St Bart’s

The best known of the island’s few dive bars is this loud pub decorated with bumper stickers and license plates, where Jimmy Buffet allegedly found his inspiration for the song “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” Other legends claim Jimmy Buffett lent the name of one of his most famous songs to Le Select in exchange for free beer and burgers for life. A frequent visitor to St Barth since 1976, Jimmy has been known to give free impromptu concerts at Le Select over the years.

Le Select is an island institution that is loved by locals and tourists alike. Many returning tourists affectionately call it “the office.” Marius Stakelborough, born on St. Barth in 1923 and still going strong, opened Le Select sixty years ago, and its longevity attests to its popularity. It is a “bare-bones” bar and grill in the heart of Gustavia and a wonderful place to have a hamburger with fries, a cold beer or other libation, meet friends and people-watch–the street activity never stops.

Skinny Legs Bar and Grill – St. John, US Virgin Islands

Although it might be considered foolish by some not to look for good seafood when visiting an island, it is well worth trying the burger when you visit Skinny Legs Bar and Grill. Located in the beautiful Coral Bay on St. John, Skinny Legs offers happy Island vacationers a delicious lunch or dinner.

Skinny Legs is a funky open-air place made of wood and tin so that it looks more or less like a tropical Caribbean shack, Skinny Legs is frequented by a sailor crowd. Of course, on St. John all the members of the yacht club, making this place both classy and down-home at the same time. Also known as one of the better sports bar locales in the area, Skinny legs is a great nightlife destination.

Sea Breeze – Jade Mountain Resort in St. Lucia

The resort’s beach bar (with tables directly in the sand), the cheeseburger on their lunch menu is very popular. Diners love the variety of toppings – from tradition to island-style (pineapple). Known for their unparalleled culinary offerings, the burger here is no exception. James Beard Award winner Allen Susser has created the Jade Mountain Club’s “Jade Cuisine,” incorporating locally-grown ingredients and Caribbean flavors.

The burger is ½ pound Angus Prime Ground Beef served up to your liking.Cheesy choices – Bleu, Cheddar, Swiss, Monterey Jack with other tempting toppings like Bacon, Mushrooms, Grilled Onions, and Pineapple. All burgers are served with French Fries or Nisbet’s Crisps (combination of Fried Breadfruit, Tania, Plantain and Sweet Potatoes), House Dill Pickles and Cabbage Slaw making this a truly unique take on the classic Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Now you don’t need as much runway on your private island getaway now…up up and away.

The King Air is the world’s most popular business aircraft for a host of reasons, reliability, comfort and flexibility. Now the Hawker Beechcraft has introduced the King Air 250, its latest variant in the venerable twin-turboprop cabin-class line. The design has been masterfully tweaked to reduce weight, while new composite winglets enhance short-field performance. The result: The more-than 1,000 airports that were too short for older models are now available for takeoffs and landings, including your favorite real estate on your favorite private island.

A medium-range business aircraft must be able to land almost anywhere and perform flawlessly in all conditions. The King Air 250 accomplishes these tasks better than any other aircraft in its class. With the addition of composite components and a new ram air recovery system that ensures maximum power, the King Air 250 continues to build on the reputation of keeping its passengers comfortable during every trip, with as much or more room than light and medium jets.

With a spacious, handcrafted interior, the King Air 250 is remarkably versatile and comfortable. New ergonomic yokes and a standard lighted chart holder increase crew comfort, while the square-oval cabin provides passengers with generous head and shoulder room. Elegant interior touches make the King Air 250 a serious business solution with outstanding amenities to match.

Highlights:
Take off in only 2,111 feet from a sea level airport
Max range of 1,610 nautical miles
Max cruise speed of up to 310 knots
The 250 sells for $5.8 million, and deliveries start in 2011.

Trade the Pure White Snow and a Pine Tree for Warm White Sand Beaches and Palm Trees During Your Tropical Christmas

“Lights are blowing from the palm trees, stockings hanging from the mast. Santa riding on a dolphin, don’t you want to make it last. It’s Christmas in the Caribbean.” – Jimmy Buffett, Christmas in the Caribbean

In 1996, Jimmy Buffett brought a tropical Christmas to life with his hit “Christmas in the Caribbean.” He was not the first to trade-in snow for sand during the holidays, and he certainly won’t be the last. Shoveling icy slush in biting winds grows quickly tiresome, as do days that are short and bleak and nights that are dark and long. With Christmas and New Year’s so close together, the holiday season is the perfect time to gather-up friends and family and head for the tropics to create a new holiday tradition.

Tropical Christmas

The best part of a holiday trip to the tropics? Many cultures rich in island tradition hold holiday festivals and many encourage participation of visitors from around the world. This is a great time of year to experience the cultural diversity found in the Caribbean and Latin and Central America and to celebrate and shed inhibitions, even for a moment, during this wonderful time of year. If you choose not to dance and celebrate, it will not be for lack of opportunity. Luxury Living International has located the new winter wonderlands in paradise.

Bursting with music and festivity, St. Kitts is a fantastic place to experience a blend of celebrations. The St. Kitts National Carnival, a two-week festival starting on Dec.18, is a mix of African, European and regional influences resulting in a lively display of unique folklore and tradition. A conglomeration of celebrations including art, dance, poetry and drama, Carnival is a fun-filled event that runs through New Year’s. Revelers fill the streets to enjoy elaborate displays that comprise the heart of the festival with Masquerade, Mocko-Jumbies and clowns entertaining the crowds. The Masquerade is a showcase of dancers in intricate headdresses, while the Mocko-Jumbies are stilt-walkers that dance about in brightly colored costumes. The Bull is a comedic interpretation of an incident from the early 1900′s involving an errant prize bull running wild through the streets. A more traditional Christmas is revealed through music. Steel and brass drum bands add a Caribbean sound to carols as throngs of gospel choirs sing in downtown Basseterre. A jubilant experience for locals and visitors alike, Carnival in St. Kitts combines exuberant festivities with the Christmas holiday, something to provide a different “flair” to the typical, more traditional festivities.

Beach parties, private light displays and homecoming gatherings prove that there is something to help everyone find the holiday spirit in The Grand Cayman Islands. Traditionally the season was a time for sailors to return home from their nomadic lives aboard shipping vessels. Native Islanders would create their own “White Christmas” by piling sand for weeks-on-end into backyards until finally, on Christmas Eve, the piles were swept flat so that the entire yard was white and undisturbed. Tradition required that the sand not be walked on until Christmas Day and, even today, there are yards of white sand that still exist to keep the tradition alive. Church is central to the Cayman interpretation of Christmas, as well as holiday songs and poetry. Santa and Christmas Trees made their way to the Caymans in the early 1900′s and have been a mainstay ever since, the main difference being that Santa arrives via boat instead of sleigh. The Cayman locals have embraced the spirit of Christmas decor. Their increasingly extravagant “Griswold” light displays will make any traveler feel at home.

Festival, the biggest party of the year in Montserrat, takes place in December, the highlight of which is Christmas Week. Festival runs from Dec. 4 until New Years Day. Dedicated to celebration, Christmas Week is a culmination of a number of fun-filled activities. The Miss Festival Queen Pageant, a Calypso King Competition and musical extravaganzas comprise some of the events, as well as caroling on Christmas day. The origin of the festival lies in the history of plantation life, when slaves would get three days off to celebrate Christmas. Since the abolition of slavery, the three-day festival has grown into a month-long jubilee, ending on New Year’s Day. Visitors flock to Montserrat for the yearly festival, even more so now that flights from Antigua have become available to make travel that much easier.

Costa Rica is home to one of the most traditional Christmas celebrations in the region. Children are on a month-long break from school, and all working adults receive their mandatory end-of-year bonus. There are three Christmas parades; El Carnival with dancers and musical groups from all across the country, El Tope, a parade of show horses and decorative hand-painted ox carts, and the favorite, El Festival de Luzes, a nighttime parade filled with thousands of decorative lights. Many of the floats in the Festival de Luzes feature fluffy white decorations to imitate snow. Toros a la Tica, or bull fighting, is also a favorite tradition for many native Costa Ricans, and gringo visitors or residents are encouraged to participate in all festivities. Christmas is celebrated with fervor, and feasts are prepared for days and enjoyed well into the nights. They finally end on Jan. 6, symbolizing the arrival of the three wise men.

The British Virgin Islands are a perennial favorite for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, with plenty of fantastic parties. Celebrations include feasting and caroling as well as a unique and native “Christmas” tree. Known as a Fishing Rod Tree, the tall succulent plant blooms in April and by December has seed pod clusters that are decorated silver to add to the aura of the celebration. Spiced Guavaberry rum is the traditional drink, and streets are filled with calypso and reggae music as shoppers hunt for last minute gifts. In anticipation of New Year’s, yachts jostle for prime anchorages. It’s hard to go wrong and the weather and winds are, typically, ideal

Last-minute travel deals mean it’s never too late to plan a Christmas abroad. Start a new tropical holiday tradition searching for sleigh tracks in the sand on a beautiful sunny beach this Christmas morning. Why not start 2010 tanned, refreshed and the envy of the town!

CABO- Owners of Residences and Casonas are given entrée to the Capella Yacht Club and membership has its privileges indeed: owners have access to the entire fleet of Viking cruising and fishing yachts, each outfitted with a Captain and First Mate. The Captain is an expert in local waters and the first mate is trained in Capella’s uncompromising style, ensuring on-board service of the highest quality.

Capella Pedregal, the premier resort and residential community under development in Cabo, is offering fractional ownership buyers a once-in-a-lifetime amenity: a fleet of luxury, Viking sport cruising yachts to call their own.

The unprecedented amenity makes Capella Pedregal the only private residence club in the world to offer shared ownership interest in a yacht fleet to buyers of fractional and full ownership real estate. Capella Pedregal will consist of 31 fractional Capella Residences, 20 full-ownership Capella Casonas (private homes) and an exclusive 66-room resort managed by the top-tier Capella Hotels and Resorts brand. While there will be up to nine yachts in total when the community opens in Spring 2008, Capella has just added the Carina, its second yacht to the fleet, a sleek, 57-foot Viking sport cruiser. Truly, owners will know what it means to own Cabo luxury real estate.

Each of the yachts boast three staterooms, a parlor, a salon complete with Sub-Zero refrigerator, state-of-the-art electronics, Satellite television and glossy teak finishes. The fleet’s fishing yachts will come with tournament-grade fishing gear; cruising yachts, ideal for playful days at sea, will be stocked with top of the line scuba gear and trendsetting water toys, including a five-passenger Nouvarania sport boat and sea kayaks.

The Capella Yacht Club reservation system is designed, like the Capella Residences reservation system, to give members flexible and abundant use of its fleet. Half day and full day usage can be chosen, and the entire fleet of yachts – or any combination in between – can be reserved at once. For special occasions, evening use with wine and hors d’oeuvres for cocktail parties at sea is an option, as is overnight use, which consists of multiple day cru 00004000 ises to nearby islands replete with an onboard chef and nature guide to heighten the experience. Besides the nominal fees for upkeep, maintenance and fuel, entrée to the Capella Yacht Club is priced at $75,000 with prices expected to near $100,000 by opening. Although membership to the Club is optional, most buyers are choosing to enjoy this exclusive amenity, and the fee is included in the total cost of ownership.

Said Juan Diaz Rivera, Director of Marketing, Capella Pedregal, “The Capella Yacht Club experience allows members of our community to experience Cabo’s version of the ‘good life’ – at a literal fraction of the cost. This is a truly unprecedented offering.”

A Russian billionaire’s $300 million, Philippe Starck-designed yacht makes waves

BARBADOS-At the top of a spiral staircase lined with scalloped, silver-leaf walls (the banister cost $60,000) is a door accessible by a fingerprint security system. It opens to an all-white, 2,583-square-foot master suite wrapped in bomb-proof, 44-milimeter glass. There, a king-sized bed sits on a giant platter that rotates with the press of a silver button. Another set of buttons rotates the bed itself. The combination of the rotating bed and the rotating platter allows limitless angles for watching the sunset, sunrise or the 60-inch plasma TV, which retracts from the ceiling. Luxury Living gets no better than this on the high seas.

And of course, everything’s afloat.

Andrey Melnichenko the proud owner of “A” is 36-year-old is worth an estimated six billion (with a”B”) named the spectacular yacht “A”, after Melnichenko’s model wife Aleksandra. The first voyage Andrey Melnichenko took in it was to Norway to take delivery of three Claude Monet paintings. Maiden voyage:

In the battle among Russia’s billionaires for yacht supremacy, Roman Abramovich’s upcoming 540-foot Eclipse may soon become the biggest, but Andrey Melnichenko’s 394-foot “A” has become the most talked-about yacht on the seas.

With its radical shape-more sleek submarine than boxy pleasure boat-and reams of custom parts and finishes (including bath knobs costing $40,000 apiece), “A” is a conspicuous marker of an ocean-going plutocracy that’s largely been untouched by the recession. The boat, designed by Philippe Starck and completed in mid-2008 for more than $300 million, has spawned a flotilla of copycats emulating its low-slung hull and design scheme. Numerous companies involved in its construction went bankrupt, done in by the novelty of the project and the level of customization required.

For all its fame, “A” remains a bit mysterious. Its owner, a 38-year-old banking, steel and fertilizer czar, is intensely private and requires all his construction crew and staff to sign strict confidentiality agreements (he declined comment for this article). He and his wife only rarely entertain on board, and few public images of the boat’s interior exist.

Dirk Kloosterman, “A”‘s project manager and a veteran of the world’s largest yachts, recently provided an exclusive tour of the boat’s 23,600 square feet of living space.

“If I were a supervillain in an Austin Powers movie, this would be a nice ride (especially with the escape pod). Bring on the sharks with the laser beams!”

The boat’s interior departs dramatically from most conventions of yacht design. Instead of the usual overstuffed couches and mahogany walls, there are Baccarat-crystal tables, shiny white finishes and polished silver, a kind of Manhattan-loft-meets-Vegas aesthetic. Many of the rooms have floor-to-ceiling mirrors, which Mr. Starck says have a built-in “mathematical beauty” that also refer to the “mathematical genius” of Mr. Melnichenko.

“A” has a crew of between 35 to 37 people, including stewards and stewardesses, mechanical engineers, security staff, housekeepers, deck hands, galley crew and chefs. The crew also has specialists for surfing, jet skiing, water skiing and cycling. All of the crew wear Starck-designed uniforms-crisp white dress shirts and white pants for daytime, and tight, black T-shirts and slacks for evening. The boat costs over $20 million a year to maintain; Filling the gas tank costs more than $500,000.

There are many discussion groups and forums about “A” online, with titles like “The Ugliest Yacht in the World” and “Should Philippe Starck Design Boats?” Debates can get heated: On the “Insider’s Guide to St. Bart’s”-a Web site frequented by vacationers on the upscale Caribbean island-dozens of “A” spotters tracked the boat’s daily movements.

“The fun thing about working on ‘A’ is you never know what the next hour will bring,” says Mr. Kloosterman, “A’s” project manager. “This boat is all about the unexpected.”

Roatan is coming into it’s own as a great Caribbean second home destination

Roatan a tiny but very sexy island is more than 30 miles off the mainland, is part of Honduras. But the island paradise for scuba divers, and increasingly for international second-home owners, also has its own identity. “We consider ourselves part of the Western Caribbean, a territory unto ourselves, like Puerto Rico is to the United States,” says Andrew Storms, an independent real estate agent with RE/MAX Roatan. “It is very much a community of native islanders and ex-pats, mostly Americans but also from Australia, New Zealand, Italy and many other countries.”

Roatan, the largest of Honduras’ three Bay Islands at 37 miles long, is on the cusp of being a full-blown tourism destination. It’s drawing more cruise ships and flights. It’s first golf community is nearing completion. “We are the Cayman Islands or Bahamas 15 years ago – we are 15 years behind in terms of tourism,” Storms says. “But the same is true for prices, and $500,000 buys a lot more here than on other Caribbean islands real estate.

Elizabeth Cano of Fortune International Realty in Coral Gables, Fla., which sells some Roatan real estate, is more blunt: “When you tell people Honduras, they sometimes get scared, but on Roatan, much business is handled by Americans. If you go scuba diving, the captain is American, the instructors giving you lessons are American.” Spanish is the official language of Honduras, but English is spoken widely on Roatan. And it’s English speaking sister Belize sits only a stones through away too.

Scuba diving has long been the No. 1 draw of the island, which is surrounded by the world’s second-largest barrier reef. The island has more than 100 marked sites, dozens of dive shops and a reputation as one of the least-expensive places for experienced divers and novices. On land, lush, mountainous Roatan remains rather pristine.

Value is the biggest reason driving second-home sales right now, Storms says. “There has been a decrease in values in the last two years of 30% to 40%, and we are seeing Americans and Canadians scooping up homes,” he says. “It’s cheaper to buy a new home than to build.”

The island’s most established second-home region, the western tip, offers single-family houses starting at about $300,000. The remote east end is cheaper. “I just sold a 2,000-square-foot home with a 1,000-square-foot deck for $240,000 – on an acre on the coast,” Storms says. “You couldn’t even build that house for that.”

A look at three Roatan neighborhoods

West Coast: The best-developed enclave of second homes includes three nearby towns with separate personalities. West Bay is sleepy, a true beach resort for sun and surf lovers. West End has a small village filled with shops. It’s home to the island’s dining and nightlife, and it attracts an artistic crowd. Local real estate agent Andrew Storms likens it to Venice Beach, Calif. The upscale town of Sandy Bay is home to Lawson Rock, the most prestigious residential community. Condos and single-family houses in West End and West Bay run from $300,000 to $600,000. Lawson Rock condos begin at $500,000 and houses at $1 million.

Pristine Bay: On the central North Shore, this is the most ambitious new project on Roatan and “the only development here that continued work and pushed through the hard economic times, which has been very reassuring to buyers,” Storms says. The first villas are complete. Condos are under construction. The first nine holes of a golf course are open. The second nine holes, a hotel and beach club are planned for early 2011. The 405-acre development also will get a marina and adjacent village of shops and restaurants that’s designed to be a community unto itself. Two-bedroom villas start at $600,000, and four-bedroom models are more than $1 million. New condos will sell for $348,000-$700,000.

East End: “The opening of Pristine Bay has opened up the island a lot more, with services, gas stations and shops popping up around it in the mid-island,” Storms says. “More people are moving east, where it is cheaper.” Port Royal is the largest village on the remote eastern tip. It’s near a high-quality oceanfront home Storm recently sold for $240,000. “It’s for people who really want to get away from it all, as you are about a 45-minute drive from any services,” Storm says. “You get a lot more for your money, plus peace and quiet.”

There are few things in this world that can be said to be true paradise, and the Virgin Island is certainly one of them. The islands popular attractions include an amazing coral reef system under the clear waters of the Caribbean, excellent water sport locations, cultural and historical sites that dates back centuries and of course, the hospitality of the Caribbean. The region first came to European attention a few centuries ago and since then it has captivated the minds of all those who were lucky enough to set foot on these amazing islands. The sunny weather and the idyllic sea surrounding the area will really make you feel as if you are in an alternate reality that you thought only existed in storybooks. Half way through your vacation if you have dreams of settling down here and spending your entire life in the calm, soothing environment here, then do not be surprised because you are not the first and you will not be the last. When it comes to exploring the Virgin Island region, then there is only one real option: a motor yacht charter. After chartering the motor yacht Sojourn, I am now convinced that there is no finer boat out there.

The Virgin Island can be roughly divided into three major regions: the US virgin Island, the British Virgin Island and the Spanish Virgin Island. Believe me, each region has a unique character and an array of sights and sounds that you may not find elsewhere. We began our tour with the British Virgin Island but where you begin, your tour depends entirely on your preferences.

The US Virgin Island consists of two major islands: St. Croix and St. Thomas. As we drifted into the bay onboard the Sojourn, we knew were going to have an amazing time here. There are some fine attractions here including the excellent beaches and some curious wildlife. As we found out, the islands are an excellent spot for some fishing and surfing. All the gear we needed was onboard the Sojourn because we made the necessary arrangements in advance.

We started our tour with the Spanish Virgin Island. This region was completely sealed off by the US navy for decades and was only recently re-opened to civilian boats. When you cruise through here onboard the Sojourn, you will be able to feast your eyes on these virtually deserted islands that have remained uninhabited for decades now.

Next, we cruised into the harbor of St. Thomas, one of the major islands that constitute the US Virgin Island. The other major island is St. Croix, and both these islands feature an amazing array of shops, cafes and quite an active nightlife. Here we decided to try out some fishing and diving with the gear onboard the Sojourn, which can be requested in advance.

Finally yet importantly, we dropped by the British Virgin Island region. This area consists of more than 50 volcanic islands, cays and inlets. Most of the islands here have their own unique character so it would be advisable to do your own research to find the islands that suit you best. There are a number of uninhabited islands as well, so feel free to explore.

Some of the islands that constitute the British Virgin Island include Anegada, Virgin Gorda, Cooper, Dead Chest, Great Camanoe, Norman, Peter and Salt. Some of the islands have some super surfing and fishing spots and we spent quite a bit of time in the water.

In addition, the Sojourn is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots and has an economic range of around 3500 miles. In addition, there is plenty of space for six guests and six crewmembers. A virgin island yacht charter is not merely about having an amazing vacation but it is about having an amazing vacation that will remain memorable forever.

The size of the luxury watercraft, the onboard amenities, the crew, and the demand for a ship are key factors used in determining the cost by chartering companies. However, if the mission you are seeking to accomplish is to enjoy the ultimate in opulence and onboard creature comforts, the super yacht Martha Ann will fit that plan. It’s absolutely luxury living on the high seas.

Martha Ann is a 230-foot power yacht by Lurssen, which cruises between 12 and 15 knots like a floating castle on the sea. Launched in 2008, it sleeps 12 guests in seven opulent cabins and has a full crew of 17 to take care of all your needs. The grandiose super yacht has a swimming deck and a lap pool, a cinema and a gym along with a baby grand piano, seven wet bars, in case 5 or 6 wasn’t enough! Then throw in a big barbecue setup and a circular glass elevator onboard. Water toys also are plentiful and include kayaks, wave runners and skis, a wakeboard, and fishing equipment. Ever trolled for dinner behind a 230 footer?!

Martha Ann is available for cruises off the Cayman Islands at a weekly price just under $800,000.
